Tomorrow! Dad and I are going! To Screaming Tiki Supercon! Where I will meet Edward James Olmos!

I charged Crowley's batteries. I marked the page for "Celestial Navigation" in my West Wing book. I printed out my ticket receipt for the will-call window. I'm wearing my Jolly Fats Wehawkin shirt in the hopes that someone will shout ART CRAWL at me.

Casey was actually the one who told me about Tiki and she looooves Smallville, so I'm gonna try to get Michael Rosenbaum's autograph for her. I'm on a mission.

Soooooo, I don't think I mentioned this but I'm in the midst of finally reading The Chronicles of Narnia. I've started to read them several times but I only got four books in because I was distracted or didn't have the next book or whatever. But I got the entire series in one volume for my last birthday so I decided to read them this summer.

I finished Prince Caspian this morning, which is the last one I have previously read. The last three - I started Voyage of the Dawn Treader after dinner - are completely new to me and I'm SO EXCITED to finally read them.

(I'm also a little excited because I bought Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in paperback yesterday and I'm going to reread it once I'm finished with Narnia. I miss HP.)

i actually watched 'aliens in the spaceship' today

First review of The Middleman DVDs

It's very positive overall and it lets us know who does commentary on what episodes. I can't freaking wait for the "Palindrome" commentary: it's Javi, Matt, and Natalie. GAH. And there are a lot of people talking on the "Cursed Tuba" commentary, darn. I'm a little bummed that we don't get audition footage for Matt, but I'm super glad we get it for Mary Pat. I'm still over the moon that we get the table read for "Palindrome," too. I just wish this DVD was in my hands already. I honestly don't remember a time when I was this excited about a DVD set. Found while cleaning out the drawers next to my desk:
• two more decks of cards (total: 6)
• autographs from Harry and the Potters (from the second time I saw them)
• a Wishbone folder from gradeschool
• genuine crime scene tape
• a Star Wars sticker book
• a story about Sports Night written for English class in middle school
• my script for the 8th grade musical
• 5 lanyard things, y'know, for keys: 2 Dayton, 1 Hoban, 1 Notre Dame, and 1 that says "Property of White House Staff," lol

Mom was cleaning out her closet and found a M*A*S*H shirt. Like an official it-says-20th-Century-Fox on it M*A*S*H shirt. It's a green scrub top with 4077th on it. LOL, I stole it from her. Instant Halloween costume. :D

I feel like I'm constantly cleaning my room these days. Mostly I just keep going back through the same stuff and trying to weed out stuff I really don't need or want anymore so it doesn't get moved.

Two things tonight:

Thing the First:

To be honest, the thing I'm the most upset about missing at this year's Comic-Con is all the Middlegoodies. The live reading of the 13th episode by the cast. The early release of the DVD set. And (as is illustrated by the image above, courtesy of the new Middleblog and drawn by the awesome Les McClaine) the release of The Doomsday Armageddon Apocalypse comic book. I really, really need to get a copy of this.

Thing the Second: I'm thinking of bringing my The West Wing Official Companion Book to Screaming Tiki so Eddie could sign either the page for "The Short List" or "Celestial Navigation." I'm thinking about it. Good idea? Bad idea? Completely ambivalent idea?

I'M WATCHING A VIDEO PODCAST WITH JAVI AND NATALIE RIGHT NOW.

THIS FANDOM FTFW.

ETA: It's confirmed: the entire cast will be at Comic-Con to do a live reading of the 13th episode. (Also at link: a new picture of Matt!)
ETA2: Just finished watching the video podcast with Natalie and Javi. I have such a huge girlcrush on Natalie right now, it's insane.

Last night at WalMart Mom bought a "Best of Star Trek: The Original Series" DVD. LOL, the thing only has four episodes, but I'd never seen any so it's been fun. (I never knew my mom used to watch! She says it was one of my grandmother's favorite shows. I kinda like knowing that.) We've watched "Trouble with Tribbles," "City on the Edge of Forever," and we just finished "Amok Time." OH THE CHEESE. It's hilarious and awesome and I'm so glad Mom bought it. There's one episode left, but I can't remember what it is. I'm hoping we'll watch it tomorrow.

Tracklisting for the Battlestar Galactica Season 4 Soundtrack. WANT NOW PLZ. Also: Trailer for BSG The Plan. (I'd forgotten Eddie directed that. Maybe he'll talk about it at Screaming Tiki...)

Oh yeah, and Dad's gonna go with me to Screaming Tiki! I'm extra super excited now! :D

Ugh, I'm still tired from this weekend. And I can't sleep in tomorrow because people are coming to work on the house at 9am. Boooooo. Logic would dictate I go to bed early, but let's face it: I'm not Spock and I'll probably still stay up late tonight.

More details on Chuck's Comic-Con panel. By the way, Burn Notice is gonna be there, too. That's unfortunate only because Dad looooooves Burn Notice and he was the one who was planning to go with me. (Can I also just say that I'm imagining Twitter will be going crazy during Comic-Con and I was all excited thinking about that, but we're gonna be literally driving to STL and/or moving into the new house during all of Comic-Con so I'm gonna have to catch up on everything after the fact and it just really bums me out. Okay. End of song.)

TFAW.com is having a Joss Whedon Birthday Sale: anything Joss-related is 30% off. It ends tomorrow (23 June) night. I'm tempted to get the Serenity model/ornament but the shipping charges are a lot more than I thought it would be. Hmmmm.

If there's anyone left who hasn't seen the Twilight/Buffy mashup, you're missing out on something amazing.

FINALLY! The schedule for the Screaming Tiki Cleveland Supercon is up! I was holding off on buying a pass 'cause I didn't know what day[s] I would want to go. Pretty much I'm only going for Edward James Olmos and his panel (he gets a panel all to himself!) is on Saturday, 11 July. I'll probably only go that day since I'm not really interested in anything else and we're moving less than two weeks after that so I imagine there will be things I need to do at home.

But nothing shall keep me from being in Cleveland to see EJO! Well, I shouldn't say nothing. I imagine there are things that could keep me from seeing him. Nevermind. I'm thinking too much. PAPADAMA!!

P.S. Saw Star Trek for the third time today. I took Mom this time, lol. She covered her eyes every time Kirk got beat up. But we were literally the only two people in the theater so that was fun.

From here:

On "Star Trek" -- the biggest minefield of his three summer films. because of the baggage and fan expectations -- [Michael] Giacchino started composing a year ago and quickly ran into a creative wall trying to write "space adventure music" to match the classic themes of five TV series and ten movies. Only when "Star Trek" co-producer (and "Lost" show-runner) Damon Lindelof suggested that Giacchino reset his thinking to the idea that it was "a story about two guys who become best friends" was the composer freed to come up with themes.

Giacchino and Lindelof are cooler than you. I think I might see Star Trek again tomorrow. I've been going through withdrawal and some very generous relatives and friends gave me graduation checks yesterday. I'm not almost-broke anymore! (I'm definitely seeing "Up" again on Tuesday; Mom's gonna come with me this time.)

Also, the Why Star Trek is Cool Again Pie Chart is pretty damn kickass.

Stop thinking horrible thoughts about the L.A. Times' Girls' Guide to Comic Con (which I'm pretty sure everyone and their half brother has read and bitched about by now, as they well should) and read The Real Girls' Guide to Comic Con instead. Totally worth the read. Stupid L.A. Times.

I'm taking advantage of having the house to myself to watch DVDs that A) my family would not want to watch or B) they would mock me for watching. In the time that they've been gone (3pm yesterday) I have watched: one episode of Firefly, one episode of BSG, one episode of The Middleman, three episodes of JAG, and the movie "Down With Love" (my ultimate guilty pleasure movie). I think I'm going to watch some more BSG tonight/tomorrow; I really wish I had more than a season and a half on DVD.

I realize that probably none of my flist will care about this, but I must once again profess my love for JAG. I've decided it's my favorite guilty pleasure show ever. It's so fun and ridiculous and the UST is through the roof, omfg. I love Harm's cockiness, Mac's sense of time, Bud's ineptitude, and the Admiral's ability to kick everyone's ass without getting out of his desk chair. But it's also completely ridiculous. And HOLY CRAP, I only just realized tonight how much Bellisario recycled from JAG to NCIS. Not only actors, but lines and stuff, too. It's almost Sorkinesque.

I just watched the last 3 eps of season 6 (which I have on DVD because I like to display how lame I am) and I'd forgotten that the season finale is a "Part I" episode. Dangit! And I can't find 7x01. Does no one else love the Navy crack that Bellisario delivers? ;)

P.S. Speaking of the Admiral, does anyone know why Cullen (Booth's boss) is never on Booooones anymore? I need some John M. Jackson being awesome on my tv, please, Hart.

Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3

One day, Gus will dance and it will make me very very happy.

P.S. For the record, I'm still bummed that no one taped Dule dancing to Yo-Yo Ma when they filmed "Noel."

01. I saw Up yesterday and loved every minute of it. I actually managed not to cry, but I came damn close. In other words: if you are less robot than me (I'm 73%!) you're probably going to need Kleenex. Michael Giacchino's score is amazing once again. The man should score everything. Well, everything that Bear McCreary doesn't score. I want my own grape soda badge.
